Helen L Robertson – Gallery An Talla Dearg, Virtual Exhibition #3
“The Highlands and Island of the West Coast of Scotland have been my source of inspiration since 1988.
These rugged landscapes and seascapes, continually enhanced by the seasons and the weather, offer me a wealth of creative possibilities.
The coruscating light on water, juxtaposed with the deep, rich tones of a shadow are the things that I seek out and try to capture in my work.
The kaleidoscope of seasonal colour and light stimulate my artistic expression, which I capture in soft Pastel or mixed Media.”

“Jim Woodman has exhibited at Gallery An Talla Dearg for the last twelve years. He is a painter of landscape specialising on the North West of Scotland, the Hebrides and particularly Skye. He first came to Skye back in the 1970’s and fell in love with the island. He stayed in Waternish in the North of the island for over twenty years, dividing his time between there and London where he now lives. He is still a frequent visitor.
He paints the landscape in strong vibrant colours which express his emotional response to a subject. He paints in both oils and watercolours.

Gary Mahon – Gallery An Talla Dearg, Virtual Exhibition #1
As our lovely wee Gallery An Talla Dearg remains closed, our virtual programme is featuring artists who would have been exhibiting with us this year….
Gary Mahon
As an artist, I’m fascinated by the colour and texture in the landscape that surrounds us.
This leads me to represent in a bold way those elements that excite and move me.
I like to paint old sheds with rusty roofs, dry stone dykes and overgrown corners of fields.
I tend not to roam to far from my front door so I am constantly drawn to familiar views and will paint the same scene several times over but always seeing it with a new eye.
